Subject: Slanted penis
Question: I feel self conscious about my penis because it slants slightly forward and I'm worried this may cause various problems with sex. I am curious if this is a common problem. Please help, thanks.

Dear Self Conscious: Everyone’s penis is different; different sizes, shapes and different angles when erect. There is no reason for a slight slant to cause you any problem with sex. It might even make your dick easier for your partners to suck. The more cocks you see the more you’ll understand the variety that exists. Don’t compare yourself to porn star cocks because having a standard cock is one of the qualifications of getting into porn.

But if the slant is new or getting worse, you might have a problem called Peyronie’s disease. Peyronie's Disease is caused by a lump of plaque or scar tissue that develops beneath the skin of your penis. The lump pulls on the skin and erectile tissue making your penis bend in the direction of the lump. This bending can be painful and can lead to serious problems including impotence. When soft your penis still looks normal. If you think this could be the case you need to see a urologist.

Subject: Hypospadias and piercing
Question: I was born with hypospadias and it wasn't corrected, as some are, in infancy. Now, I wouldn't go through the pain and risks and since my penis functions just fine, I figure why bother.

I have been curious about the prospect of a Prince Albert or other penile piercing. However, based on my anatomical difference, I wonder if there would be a problem. It's considered moderate but as I said, I have no problems with erections or urinary flow control. The piercing might just create the latter but I don't know for sure. Would a professional piercer know enough about this condition to give me a good answer or should I speak to a urologist? The urologist I would go to is a cool guy and wouldn't be taken aback by the question.

Dear PonyNPup: [FYI for readers: hypospadias is a birth defect in which the piss-hole is not located properly at the tip of the penis. Hypospadias surgery can be performed to extend the urinary tube (urethra) to the end of the penis.]

My suggestion would be that you visit your cool urologist first to discuss this. Once he gives you the OK, then you could consult with a piercer. You have to remember that piercers are businessmen looking to sell their services and jewelry, not health professionals.

Some years ago I worked in a piercing shop and assisted the piercer a number of times as he performed a Prince Albert (a piercing that goes in the urethra and out the bottom of the head of your cock). It is a relatively simple procedure for an experienced piercer but not something to let a novice perform on you.

Subject: Circumcision
Question: I’m circumcised and most guys I meet are too. But on a recent trip overseas I found that the men I met were not circumcised. How common is it to be uncircumcised?

Dear Cut Guy: Sixty percent of American men are circumcised whereas most men from Latin America, Asia and Europe are not. Some people have the procedure done for religious reasons and others do it out of cultural habit. Some men do it later in life because they like the way it looks. There are also groups providing info on ways to try to restore lost foreskins.
